For the carne asada (steak):
1 ½ lbs flank or skirt steak
3 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 2 limes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 jalapeño, chopped (optional for heat)
¼ cup cilantro, chopped
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
For the fillings:
4 large flour tortillas
1 cup guacamole (mashed avocado with lime, salt, cilantro, optional onion)
1 cup pico de gallo (diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime juice, salt)
1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Salsa verde or hot sauce
Instructions:
Marinate the steak
Mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, jalapeño, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Coat steak in the marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to overnight).
Grill the steak
Cook over high heat (grill or skillet) for 4–5 minutes per side (medium).
Let rest 5 minutes, then slice into bite-sized cubes.
Warm tortillas
Heat flour tortillas on a dry skillet until soft and slightly toasted.
Assemble burritos
Spread guacamole on the tortilla.
Add carne asada pieces, pico de gallo, cheese (if using), and salsa verde.
Fold and roll tightly into a burrito.
Optional finish
Place the rolled burrito back on the skillet for 1–2 minutes to get a golden, crispy outside.
